Meet Jolene

The Sewing Lady

For over 15 years I’ve been teaching an almost lost art to young (and not-so-young) people: I teach them to sew. In fact, JoLene’s Sewing School just celebrated its 15-year Anniversary!

Being a sewing teacher has been such an amazing adventure, and I’m so fortunate to have so many wonderful kids and adults along for the ride.

One of my favorite things about having my own sewing school is helping my students gain the confidence to do anything they set their minds to. So often I’ll watch a new student begin a class with fear in their eyes…then find a spark of confidence…and finally leave at the end of the day with an internal fire that roars, “Yes, I can do this!”

It is my greatest joy to own my sewing school and to make lifelong friends through this work. I’m not sure who learns the most – me or my students (but I’m pretty sure it’s me!).

SEWING FOR ALL AGES!

Register for KIDS AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES now!

Kids classes are back! and we are abiding by CDC requirements. Classes meet indoors. Masks will be optional. Air purifier will follow CDC guidlines.

Kids Sewing Classes: Available for children ages 6 -19. Students are welcome to begin September 2024 going through May 2025. Details can be found here.

Summer Sewing Camps are over for this year: Available for students ages 6 – 19. Held June 28 – August 25. During this time of COVID-19, I’ve updated my camps to accommodate all necessary precautions. The camps are 3 consecutive days, 3 hours/day. All camps are held outdoors. Snacks are provided each day. Details can be found here.

Adult Sewing Classes: Available for adults ages 20 – 120! From basic sewing skills to alterations and tailoring, I’ll help you learn to create the perfect fit. Classes are held weekday evenings. Call for availability. Details can be found here.
