I teach an almost lost art to young people: I teach kids to sew.
For five years I’ve been teaching an almost lost art to young people: I teach kids to sew. I can’t believe I’m celebrating the five year anniversary! It’s been an amazing adventure, with many kids and adults having taken the adventure with me.It’s a privilege to teach them to have confidence and self-esteem to do anything they set their minds to do. So often I watch as a student starts a class with fear in their eyes, finds a spark of confidence, and leaves with an internal fire that roars “Yes, I can do this.”
It’s a pleasure to teach and make friends that will last a lifetime. I’m not sure who learns the most, me or the students (but I think it’s me).
Anyone in the Happy Valley and Portland, Oregon area who wants to learn to sew, give me a call or send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and join us as the adventure continues into the next five years and beyond!
