Happy (almost) spring! What a great year it has been so far. I can’t believe that spring is almost here, with daffodils blooming and tulips already coming up. I love spring – how it is a rebirth of flowers and gardens.

This time of year, there’s a lot of exciting things coming up at the Sewing School as well – including summer camps! Check out everything you need to know below.

A Look Back at Fifty-Five Years of Sewing

This year I celebrated my 65th birthday, which means I have been sewing for about fifty-five years! In my latest blog I look back on what first brought my passion for sewing, and the many adventurous things I’ve sewn throughout the years! You can read it here.

Spring Sewing Classes

We still have three months of after school classes left – plenty of time to learn how to sew! If you know of someone that might want to take classes let them know I still have a few spots open.

To keep up with all the current happenings, follow me on Facebook or keep an eye on my website.

Camps are Coming!

Yes, another summer of camps is almost here! They are my favorite. It is so much fun coming up with the ideas, putting them together – and the snacks! We all have a great time making our creations.

The camp list will be out very soon so watch for them in your inbox! This year the dates will be June 22nd through August 26th . I’ll have morning 9-12am and afternoon 1-4pm camps on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week.

Student Spotlight

This student has been with me for about three years. She started with The Kids Can Sew program and quickly graduated to other endeavors. She has done quilts, aprons, clothing and much much more. But this time she decided to make a denim jacket. It took her a little more than 4 months. She is such a trooper – she never gave up. She met every problem with determination to figure it out and kept right on going. And look how great it turned out! I am ever so proud of this young lady and look forward to our next sewing adventure together.

I hope to see you around the sewing school soon!

Happy Sewing!
