THANK YOU FOR COMING!
Thank you all so much for coming to my 10-Year Sewing Celebration! It meant so much to me that you came! I had SO MUCH FUN seeing all of you, seeing your beautiful creations, giving away prizes and spending time with all the lovely people who have helped JoLene’s Sewing School become what it is today! In total we had about 85 people attend the party – a HUGE turnout! We had a BLAST!
A RECAP OF THE PARTY….
Preparing for the Big Day
It took A LOT of preparation to make this party a success! Many thanks to my sister Tonya for helping me make the cupcakes, gift bags, and so much more… she is wonderful!
My grandkids also helped me make buttons out of paper plates! We placed them all over the walls – we had over 200 of them! (Here’s just a snapshot).
Come On In!
When guests entered the party, they were given a gift bag full of sewing goodies. They were also able to put their name into a drawing to win a variety of prizes!
LET THE FESTIVITIES BEGIN!
We had lots of fun things for the guests to do at the party! For instance, we had a….
Many of my current & past sewing students brought outfits they had sewn in class to model for our fashion show! They walked up the stairs on the right, went across the stage as I described their hand-sewn item (while they gave the audience a spin), and then they came down in front of the stage, where they spun again, showing off their outfit. I then had all of the students line up in front of the stage so that I could hug each one of them. It’s been such a joy getting to teach them the past 10 years!
SEW Much To Do!
Guests had lots of things to keep them entertained! There were sewing-themed games, a food station, a video slideshow of memories from the past 10 years, displays of past projects the students had done (i.e: quilts, stuffed animals, etc), prize drawings & giveaways, and crafts. There was even a place to write reviews of JoLene’s Sewing School so I can put them on my website and get more wonderful students like YOU!
One of the most fun things I got to be a part of was judging a sewing competition! A few of my students volunteered to compete, where they took pieces of pre-cut fabric and sewed them into a stuffed heart. Each finished product was graded on criteria like stitching quality, overall appearance, etc. I had fun rating each one – without any bias, of course!
Memorable Times With Memorable People
I SO wish I was able to take a picture with each of you – but I did get to capture myself and some of my guests throughout the party! Take a look… (P.S. If you’ve got a picture of us together at the party, please send them to me!).
THANK YOU – EACH OF YOU – FOR MAKING THIS DAY MEMORABLE!
Thank you ALL for making this day a complete success! I never could have been in business for the past 10 years without your love and support! Here’s to another 10 years!!!
